Walking through the vineyard with frost damage… 22nd October 2006 Being a grape grower this year has been one hell of an adventure! Trying to grow vines in soil as hard as concrete. And when you manage to get them growing the deadly and silent frost creeps in at dawn to burn all the leaves that have managed to grow. After 65 % of the crop was decimated on the evening of the 21st October, we are now rolling up our sleeves to protect the remaining 35% – the season is going to be long and stressful.
