Jeff Gordon - Heidelberg & Valley Weekly 2006 The North Face Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot Crimson-brick red in color-mild cassis with touch of mocha on nose. Medium bodied wine with well integrated wine of some complexity with black berry fruit, soft tannins and judicious use of oak that finishes long. Highly agreeable (91)

Jeff Gordon - Heidelberg & Valley Weekly 2005 The North Face Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot The '05 is, as you would expect beautifully crafted but what the wine lacks in depth of colour and flavour of the vintages on either side, it makes up in drinkability; particularly for non white drinkers who want a flavoursome red with spicy food or those who prefer their reds in a lighter style. ____________________________________________
2004 Vintage
James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion 2008 2004 The North Face Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot Better depth and colour than the '05, and more character and depth of flavour, all with a certain masculine astringency; commands attention. Screwcap. 13% alc. Rating 90. Drink 2014. ____________________________________________

James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion 2007 2003 The North Face Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot Medium-bodied; savoury, earthy edges to the black fruits and mint, then quite warm mocha oak and ripe tannins. Cork. 13 alc. Rating 89. Drink 2011.

Gamy, earthy, dry and drinkable, its face developing a touch too quickly and its feral, green-tinged character just a touch too bitter, but complexity certainly not an issue. Lots of acidity and drying tannin. This wine will polarise drinkers. Rated : 86 Points ____________________________________________

James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion 2004 2001 Cabernet Youthful red-purple; a mix of earth, berry spice and leaf on the bouquet is repeated on the elegant palate which, however, is a little hard in the mouth, and needing time to settle down. Rating 86. Drink 2004-2008. Best vintages '99. Drink with Kangaroo fillet.
