Wedgetail Valley Pinot Noir (Biodynamic) - (formerly Par 3)
Wine Reviews
2008 Vintage
Melbourne Herald Sun– Tuesday 17th March 2009 By Paddy Kendler Wedgetail Valley Pinot Noir 2008 "Winemaker guy Lamothe terms this a "minimalist wine", a reference to no more than the bare essentials of winemaking artifice and intervention. Made from biodynamically grown fruit from Genbrook and Cottles Bridge, there's an instantly appealing simplicity about it. Fresh, clean and precise varietal fruit fragrance and flavour, fine, silky texture and neatly balanced, it's a bargain by pinot-pricing standards and should be available via Vintage Cellars and Dan Murphy's. ***** Max Allen – The Weekend Australian 14-15 March 2009 Biodynamic Beauty - 2008 Wedgetail Valley Pinot Noir “A blend of biodynamically grown grapes from the wonderful Limbic vineyard southeast of Melbourne and a splash of Wedgetail’s own Yarra fruit, this is a gorgeously ethereal, spicy, sappy, medium-bodied pinot.”
www.winefront.com.au– Tuesday 17th March 2009 Gary Walsh - Wedgetail Valley Par 3 Bio-Dynamic Pinot Noir 2008
Most of the fruit comes off an established vineyard in the Gembrook area that’s been using BD technique for five years, the remaining 20% coming from Wedgetail vineyard which has been BD for two years. Interesting to see the increased use of Bio-Dynamic as a marketing tool.
Light and fresh with cherry and strawberry, a touch of fragrant mint and sweet stalk and subtle spice. It’s clean and direct with good shape, light dry tannins and appropriate length. Lovely drink - invigorating, dynamic (Bio or otherwise) and very fairly priced. Rated 91 points.

Vintage Cellars Magazine – October 2006 By Richard, Frank & Brian – Vintage Cellars Toorak 2004 Par 3 Pinot Noir "From the Yarra Valley, the Par 3 represents great value for money. A savoury style of Pinot with spicy black cherry, good length and nice mouth filling weight. A wine to satisfy a Pinot Noir buyer on a budget. Ideal with veal, lighter meats or a pasta and as always, food like roast duck or Asian style crispy skin chicken, would complement this wine."
